Curtis Bauer and Jacqueline Kolosov - Texas Tech University

Bauer, a translator with thirteen books of Spanish-to-English translation under his belt, will read from two new titles out through Penguin Random House. Mother Tongue: Immersions and Other True Stories, his translation of work by Fabio Morbito, came out in October, and I Won't See You Die, his translation of a novel by Antonio Muoz Molina, follows in November. Kolosov will read from her forthcoming essay collection, Motherhood, and the Places Between, out from Iron Oak Press in October.

Bauer also writes his own poetry. His most recent collection, American Selfie, came out through Barrow Street Press in 2019 and has since been translated into Spanish.

For anyone in Lubbock who follows the Texas Tech English department or just wants a free evening of literature downtown-adjacent from campus, this is a rare chance to hear two working writers talk through brand new material in the same room, on the same night.
