Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham put it plainly: finding an honorable resting place close to home matters because families should be able to visit whenever they want, not just when they can afford the drive. The $16 million project changes something real and practical for West Texas military families who have quietly absorbed that burden for years.
