Colorado head coach Danny Sanchez said the early second-half goal against his team changed the tone of the match. "We gave up that early goal, which was disappointing," Sanchez said. "I think once we got down, 3-1, we started to play a little bit again, but it was too late. So it was a good learning experience for us."
For Colorado, a ranked team that generated more shots and a penalty kick still walked away with nothing, a result that will sting more than the scoreline suggests once conference standings tighten up later in the year. Tech remains unbeaten on the season, another quality win at home.
