The writer met senior leadership from Peter Piper Pizza during the Lubbock location's grand opening back in May and later brought the idea back to them for an adult party. The venue's staff backed the plan, and the party pulled together with very little planning effort for a mixed group of friends.

The bigger point is that Lubbock's "kids" venues do not have to be off limits once you turn thirty or forty. Peter Piper Pizza already has the games, the food and the space in place, so adults get a built-in party without the usual logistics of booking a private room somewhere else. For anyone burned out on planning a bar crawl or a backyard cookout, it is a reminder that the birthday party formula does not need reinventing every year.
