The Liberty Patriots are 7-0 overall and 1-0 in district. The Estacado Matadors are 8-0 and 2-0. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., and one of those records ends tonight.
Estacado opened district play with a 64-35 win at Perryton, then beat Borger 66-0. Liberty comes off a bye week and has beaten six of its first seven opponents by 30 or more points.
Liberty head coach Joe Sexton knows what this one means. "You could say it's got maybe a gold ball attached to this one," he said. He called playing a team in town "pretty much a big deal." Estacado head coach Eric Ward wants his team disciplined and free of penalties.
Folks who can't make it to Patriot Stadium can watch on KCBD.com, the End Zone App or the Streaming App.
The two programs have met in each of Liberty's two seasons as a varsity program. Estacado won 44-27 in 2024, and Liberty answered with a 49-21 win last season. The series sits at 1-1, so tonight breaks the tie.
