Volleyball falls in five-set match

Cochran racked up 63 assists, the most by a Red Raider since 2022. Four different Tech players hit double figures in kills as the team posted a .329 hitting percentage, its best mark of the season and its highest since Oct. 29, 2025. Kenna McKenzie led the way with 18 kills on a .368 hitting percentage, followed by Sara Bowcutt with 17, Shelby Ignash with 13 and Gretchen Sigman with 12. Ignash also hit .526 and added seven blocks.

The Cyclones improved to 7-5 with the win. Emily Contreras anchored the back row for Tech in the loss.

For Red Raider fans, the result stings more than most. This wasn't a team getting overwhelmed. Tech out-hit its season average and got a career-best performance from its setter, but still walked away with a loss because Iowa State found a way to win the fifth set. It's proof that in volleyball, one set can undo an otherwise dominant night.
