White House bars CNN from travelling with Trump on Air Force One

CNN had been scheduled to travel with Trump on the flight until a Friday night note from the White House left the network off the media schedule. No other outlet took its place in the tentative lineup, and the BBC said it has asked the White House for comment.

The move follows last week's decision by Trump to ban CNN, Politico and MS NOW journalists from the White House after accusing them of writing unfair coverage of him.

For CNN, the exclusion means one less seat at the table for a trip that would normally offer close access to the president and his schedule. Reporters who fly aboard Air Force One typically get real time details on a president's movements and public remarks that outlets outside the pool don't see firsthand. That access vanishes for this trip. CNN must rely on secondhand accounts from whichever outlets make the flight.
