Four-star power hitter Lainie Keefer commits to Texas Tech

Ranked No. 88 overall nationally by Softball America, Keefer sits at No. 27 among her position and No. 3 in the state of Illinois. This year alone, she combined for 30 home runs and 136 RBIs across high school and club ball. In her 16U club season, she hit .481 with a .553 on-base percentage, 17 home runs and 73 RBIs, production that earned her a spot on the Clearwater Fall Classic 16U All-Tournament team.

Head coach Gerry Glasco has built a reputation for stacking his lineup with power bats, and Keefer fits that mold. She's played all over the diamond in club and high school ball, but catcher and third base look like her most likely landing spots once she gets to Lubbock.

For Red Raider fans still riding the high of recent softball success, this is another marker that Glasco isn't slowing down on the recruiting trail. Landing a Top 100 national prospect for a class still two years out signals Texas Tech wants to keep building depth at positions that can swing games, not just fill roster spots.
