Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld said the album's signature sound was personal, because the band's label had given him one last chance. Instead of freaking out about writing a hit, he said, "I don't care."

He was trying to make sense of depression, substance abuse, alcoholism and heartache. He got to write and produce the record the way he wanted, with "an essence of R&B and an essence of Michael Jackson meets REM meets Radiohead."

"Foiled" went platinum in 2007, and two of its singles, "Hate Me" and "Into the Ocean," went platinum on their own. Friday's show plays the entire album, then adds a second set of other songs. The concert starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available.
