The program is called Lifting Up Small Business Grants in Lubbock. Optimum Business is the founding partner and is putting in $125,000, which covers all 25 grants. The money is meant to help selected businesses support their long-term success.

Amanda Seabaugh, vice president and general manager of Optimum, said the company is proud to invest the money "directly into the people and businesses that make Lubbock such a dynamic place to live and work." Nick Atwood, president and CEO of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, said the grants will give entrepreneurs the chance to "invest in their businesses, pursue new opportunities and continue building a stronger Lubbock for years to come."

Optimum and the Chamber expect to announce recipients this winter. After that, Optimum Business plans to host recognition events with local officials and community partners. KCBD's original report links to the application requirements, official program rules and submission details.
