Children’s Miracle Network raises record $2 million for UMC Children’s Hospital - KCBD

The money came in through a full year of fundraising that culminated in the 43rd Annual Children's Miracle Network Celebration Broadcast. UMC Children's Hospital serves families across the South Plains. Dr. Brian Payne, chief medical officer at UMC Children's, said the broadcast shows exactly where that money goes. He described watching kids and parents playing with blocks during the event, a small moment that represents something bigger for families who rely on the hospital's care.

Payne said the donations keep families whole. Without that support, he said, families would be missing something, calling the loss "devastating" if the funding weren't there. That framing puts real weight behind a number that can otherwise feel abstract, a couple million dollars raised over a year of bake sales, radio pushes and one long broadcast day.
