For Visitors
Texas Tech tells fans to arrive early to avoid traffic near the stadium. Student, club, suite and select premium gates open two hours before kickoff; all other gates open 90 minutes before. Gate times can change season to season, so check the official gameday guide.
Near campus is the walkable option and books first. The Depot District puts you in the middle of downtown nightlife. South Plains Mall and the Loop 289 corridor have the most rooms and the easiest parking, but you will drive in.
Gameday parking is pass-based. Reserved season lots are sold through the Red Raider Club, with paid single-game parking and some free fan lots designated each season. Lots, prices and rules change every year, so check Texas Tech’s official parking page before you drive in.
Close to campus you get quick counter service built for a pregame rush. Downtown and the Depot District lean sit-down. If you have less than an hour, stay on the campus side; if you have two, downtown is worth the drive.
The Buddy Holly Center and the surrounding arts district anchor most visits, and the Depot District carries the evening. Lubbock also sits in the Texas High Plains, which Visit Lubbock says grows 90% of Texas wine grapes, with wineries both inside city limits and out in the countryside.
Plan on a car. Citibus is Lubbock’s public transit provider and runs gameday Park & Ride shuttles to the stadium, starting three hours before kickoff. Outside gamedays its fixed routes run Monday through Saturday only, with no Sunday service, so most visitors will want to drive. Live schedules are at citibus.com.
Football is played at Galaxy Stadium, 2526 Mac Davis Lane, on the Texas Tech campus. It was Jones AT&T Stadium until a naming-rights change in July 2026, and plenty of locals still call it that. Game days pull the whole city toward campus, so leave earlier than the map suggests.
