What is Best of Lubbock?
A neighbor-voted list of local favorites, run by 806 Connect. It has two parts: polls you can vote in while they are open, and category pages that list contenders from the directory. Nothing is ranked until real votes come in.
How does voting work?
In a poll you tap your pick: no account, no email. Each question takes one vote per person, counted once per device. Results show only after a question has 25 votes; until then you see how close it is. Voting on the category lists is not open yet, and those lists will follow the same 25-vote rule.
What if a poll ends under 25 votes?
Then no result is shown. The poll page says how many votes it got and that it fell short of 25. We would rather show nothing than a winner picked by a handful of taps.
Can a business pay to rank higher?
No. There is no paid placement anywhere in Best of Lubbock. Contenders are pulled from the 806 Connect directory and are deliberately not ordered by any paid tier flag.
How does a business get listed as a contender?
Contenders come from the 806 Connect business directory, which is free to be listed in. If a local business is missing, it can be added and claimed at no cost. There is no listing fee and no annual renewal.
