A standalone emergency room not attached to a hospital. It is a real ER, with real ER pricing.
Bills at full hospital-ER rates, and may add a separate facility fee.
This is the one that surprises people. A freestanding ER can look like an urgent care from the parking lot. Texas requires them to post that they charge hospital-ER rates and may bill a facility fee, so read the sign at the door before you check in.
Hospital emergency room
Full hospital emergency department. Lubbock is the regional trauma hub for West Texas and eastern New Mexico.
