Lubbock mothers are opening up about their postpartum mental health struggles as the Lindsay Clancy trial draws national attention to postpartum psychosis and the warning signs that too often go unrecognized. Clancy, a Massachusetts nurse, stood trial on charges connected to the deaths of her three children, and her defense centered on postpartum psychosis, a severe and rare psychiatric condition that can follow childbirth.

The Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL) sees patients regardless of insurance on a sliding fee scale, and states that services will not be denied due to inability to pay. StarCare provides mental health services on a similar sliding scale. The City of Lubbock Health Department provides immunizations and other clinical services. Call ahead to confirm current hours and what to bring.
