Expect 'unusual items' as Miniaturists of Lubbock host 47th annual exhibit - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Doors open 10 a.m. To 5 p.m. Saturday, then 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission runs $4 for adults and $1 for kids, and organizers ask guests to use the north entrance off 47th Street. Group member Melonie Miles says this year's raffle includes a Christmas post office prize, a detail that hints at the kind of small-scale, detailed pieces the club is known for building.

Kids get their own thing to do too. An "I Spy" game runs alongside the main exhibit, and door prizes go out throughout the weekend on top of the raffle itself.

For neighbors near 48th Street, it's a low-cost weekend outing that funds local home-building work through Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar from admission and raffle tickets goes toward that cause, giving visitors a browse through decades of miniature craftsmanship for a good reason.
