Flock Safety's CEO says safeguards will be added to cameras in January - WRAL

Flock Safety originally developed its cameras to assist law enforcement by locating missing people, identifying stolen vehicles, and tracking suspects involved in criminal investigations. Critics have consistently voiced worries about how broadly the collected data can be searched. Misuse by officers is another concern. The company, however, highlighted in a Thursday video statement that its cameras helped resolve cases for 1,000 missing individuals in July. They also reported recovering 20,000 stolen cars during that same month.
