FM 835 bridge replacement project preparing for October start - KCBD

The $5.99 million project goes to contractor Webber Construction, LLC, based in The Woodlands. Crews plan to place signage and stage traffic control devices along the project limits next week, ahead of the official start date. Lubbock area engineer Joe Villalobos, P.E., says FM 835 drivers should expect a major road closure with traffic detoured for most of the project.

The plans call for an accelerated bridge construction schedule, though the exact detour route has not been detailed yet. Anyone who uses FM 835 to get around the east side of Loop 289 should start thinking about an alternate path now, before the closure hits.

Commuters, farm traffic, and anyone crossing that stretch of the Brazos fork will feel the disruption once October rolls around. TxDOT has not said how long the closure will last, so folks should plan for the inconvenience to stick around a while.
