Free Chiltons at Stella's, Odds & Ends Chilton Day event

The event runs from 10:30 a.m. To 4:30 p.m. On September 12 at Stella's, located at 6015 82nd Street. If you've never had one, the Chilton is Lubbock's own cocktail, born here and still closely tied to the city's identity in a way that outsiders sometimes find surprising when they realize it's not widely known beyond the South Plains.

Anyone who shows up gets a free Chilton, and the event also includes giveaways. Odds & Ends is in on the celebration too, though the drink and the giveaways are the main draw.

For people on the south side of town, this is a low-stakes Saturday afternoon with a free drink and a reason to get out. The 82nd Street location is easy to reach, and a nearly six-hour window gives folks plenty of flexibility to stop in without rearranging their whole day.

A local restaurant and a local shop throwing a party around the Chilton says something about how seriously people here take that claim.
