Born Gail Jackson in Austin in 1946, she soon made Lubbock her home alongside her siblings, Richie and Sherrie, growing up in a city still defining itself. Her West Texas upbringing shaped her before she attended the University of Texas, where she joined Delta Delta Delta.
After college, she lived abroad for a time, eventually making her permanent home in Florida. Settling in Gulf Breeze in 1983, Gail met Dan Noonan, the love of her life, marrying him on Valentine's Day in 1994 and blending their family of four children.
For those who remember Gail from her early days here, her passing marks the loss of a familiar face from a different Lubbock era, perhaps from school halls or neighborhood gatherings near 19th Street. Her story reflects many individuals whose paths began in the city before leading elsewhere.
