This program offered engaging, hands-on learning activities right here at the sprawling Health Sciences Center campus, giving aspiring nurses a practical, real-world look into the profession. Participants learned everything from patient assessment to basic first aid during the full-day immersion, getting invaluable early exposure to the field.
This initiative directly feeds into our local healthcare pipeline, cultivating talent from our own neighborhoods and schools right here in Lubbock. It means more homegrown nurses could be caring for us down the line, whether that's at UMC, Covenant Health, or even one of the busy clinics stretching down Quaker Avenue.
