Lubbock UMC announces temporary access, entrance changes Saturday - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Lubbock UMC will temporarily close key entrances and restrict access this Saturday, August 22, due to a crane operation supporting ongoing facility improvements.

During these 12 hours, several critical access points will change. The Childrens Emergency Center entrance will be temporarily closed, redirecting patients needing care to the Adult Emergency Center entrance instead. Individuals accessing Radiology services will also find their usual entrance blocked, requiring them to use the Main Entrance for facility entry.

Beyond specific building entrances, temporary access restrictions will also be in place for nearby drive lanes and walkways throughout the UMC campus. All areas affected by the crane operation and associated closures will be clearly marked, with on-site personnel available to guide traffic and pedestrians around the facility.

For regular Lubbock residents, this means anyone planning a visit to UMC on Saturday, from appointments to emergencies, must prepare for detours and potential delays. Knowing these temporary changes beforehand will help ensure a smoother experience for patients and their families alike.

Navigating the UMC campus will require extra patience this Saturday as a full 12-hour crane operation reshapes typical access points.
