Milo Yiannopoulos, far-right critic of U.S. immigration, is deported from U.S.

ICE says Yiannopoulos entered the U.S. Legally in 2019 but then overstayed his visa. An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after he failed to appear at his own immigration hearing. ICE referred to him in its statement as "an illegal alien from the United Kingdom."

Yiannopoulos built his public profile attacking feminism, Islam, and immigration policy, and he was among the loudest civilian voices backing the current administration's aggressive deportation agenda. The same enforcement machinery he applauded publicly is what put him on a plane back to Britain.

For people here in Lubbock who followed his appearances on right-wing media or college campus tours over the years, the story lands with some irony. The crackdown he championed does not distinguish between the people he targeted in his commentary and a British national who simply stopped complying with visa rules.

Yiannopoulos missed the hearing that could have changed his outcome, making him one of the more prominent figures removed under the current enforcement push.
