Milton Vaughn Obituary - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Milton "Rabbit" Vaughn, a Texas Tech football legend who later earned three engineering degrees, passed away Wednesday at 89.

While at Tech, he met his future wife, Ann Denny. They married in December 1958, starting a 67-year marriage right here in Lubbock. After leaving the Hub City for advanced degrees from Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University, Vaughn returned, contributing as a businessman and friend to the community he called home for so long.

"Rabbit" Vaughn's story reminds us of the deep connections between Tech athletics and successful careers far beyond the field. His dedication to both family and business leaves a lasting mark on the West Texas landscape. He wasn't just a Red Raider. He was a foundational part of many lives here.

Vaughn's passing comes on August 5, 2026, marking the end of a life that spanned nearly nine decades and three universities.
