Her mother, Cherilyn Laymance, and her father, Shahn Laymance, are both TTUHSC nursing graduates, making Carahlyne the third member of the family to walk that stage. Shahn described the moment as carrying deep personal meaning, saying it was thrilling to watch his youngest complete the same journey he and Cherilyn had taken. Carahlyne grew up in Pecan Gap, a small town, and said she did not always know nursing was the path she would take.
