Texas DPS identified Kelly Pope, 41, of Hobbs, as the victim of the crash, which occurred just after 11 p.m. Investigators reported Pope was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup west on FM 41 when the incident unfolded. Her truck left the roadway, veering into the south barrow ditch. It then skidded back across the highway, entering the north barrow ditch. The pickup continued into a nearby field before rolling over, with Pope pronounced dead at the scene.
