Last season, the Red Raiders defense ranked third in the FBS for scoring, a truly dominant unit that held its own on Saturdays. However, the offense often lagged, struggling to consistently generate points despite the defenses turnovers. To close that gap, Coach Joey McGuire brought in a significant quartet of new wideouts, a mix of transfers and promising freshmen, to bolster the receiving corps.

These new pass-catchers are already making waves. Cornerback Brice Pollock, a veteran on the defense, reluctantly admitted the best play from their first full-pad practice came from one of the offensive newcomers. That kind of early praise, especially from a defensive standout, speaks volumes about the talent infusion happening just off Marsha Sharp Freeway.

This means fans heading to The Jones this fall can expect a much more dynamic and potentially explosive offense.
