Texas Tech lands 2028 Five-Star No.3 Tackle Prospect Austin Attalah - Sports Illustrated

Attalah plays at Orange Lutheran in California and stands 6-foot-7, 270 pounds. He's ranked the top overall prospect in the state of California by 247 Sports, and he had more than 30 offers from programs including Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Texas, and LSU before picking Lubbock.

He announced the decision on the Pat McAfee Show, saying a visit to Tech helped him lock in his choice. A kid who could have gone anywhere in college football took a trip to Lubbock and left with his mind made up.

For the Red Raiders, this is the kind of recruit that changes the perception of what Tech can pull in on the offensive line. Attalah won't arrive until 2028, so fans are looking at a long runway, but landing a California prospect of this caliber over programs with far more recent national championship hardware says something about where McGuire's recruiting has taken this program. He's already the highest-ranked commit Tech has landed in recent memory at the position.
