Texas Tech Milestone Day on Pitch + Football Hiding Their Bag?

Texas Tech soccer beat San Diego State 2-1 at John Walker Soccer Complex, marking the program's 125th win at the venue and the first time all season the Aztecs allowed two goals from the run of play. Kylie Bahr scored her first career goal in the win.
Kylie Bahr scored her first career goal in the win. Taylor Zdrojewski notched her 30th, a milestone showing how long she has carried the offense. Coaches experimented with the lineup, giving them something to build on for the rest of the season. It was a good sign for a team still finding its rhythm.
Football fans have plenty to chew on too. The Red Raiders opened the season with a 33-10 win over ACU, and Will Hammond made his return from an ACL injury. Quinten Joyner scored on his first touch as a Red Raider. Jamond Mathis turned in a breakout performance that has people talking before the trip to Oregon State. Tech still has cleanup work to do on offense before conference play gets tougher.
Volleyball did not open the way anyone in Lubbock hoped, dropping its opening weekend. Whether that group turns things around will shape how the fall feels around Texas Tech athletics.
Three teams, three different stories, one program trying to find its footing before the schedule gets real.
