'The Space They Left' series to debut on Panhandle PBS - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Singleton created the series after his brother's suicide drew him into a world of grief and resources he said he never knew existed. The research-based documentary takes an unflinching look at loss, risk, and what happens for survivors in the aftermath. Panhandle PBS, which serves the Lubbock area and much of West Texas, gives the series a regional platform during one of the most awareness-focused months on the mental health calendar.

For people here who have lost someone to suicide, or who know someone navigating that kind of grief, the series offers something most local television does not. It takes a sustained, research-grounded look at what comes after. Postvention, the support and intervention that follows a suicide loss, rarely gets this kind of focused attention.

The timing is deliberate. September is also when Lubbock and surrounding communities see organized awareness events tied to suicide prevention.
