Two Panhandle schools named 2026 Lone Star Ribbon Schools - KVII

Both schools sit north of Lubbock in the Panhandle. The recognition puts two small-town elementary campuses on the same list as the state's biggest districts. Abbott created it in 2025 to replace the National Blue Ribbon Schools program, a shift tied to federal efforts to hand more education oversight back to individual states.
