Jared Bridegan, 33, a Microsoft executive, had just dropped off his twin children at his ex-wife's home one late-winter evening. Driving home to St. Augustine with his two-year-old daughter, he spotted a tire blocking his path on a familiar stretch of road. Bridegan stopped his car and got out to clear the obstruction. Before he could even get back inside, he was shot multiple times. The assailant fled.
