Amazon-branded cargo plane overruns runway at Miami airport, strikes multiple vehicles - NBC News

The plane, identified as 21 Air Flight 7598, was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico when it overran runway 30 just before 2 p.m. Eastern time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said the aircraft came to rest in a field next to the airport after hitting multiple vehicles.

Three of the injured were in critical condition and transported to a trauma center. Two others were also transported for treatment. Officials have not released information about who was aboard the aircraft or the identities of those killed.

This one is not local to Lubbock, but it's the kind of story people here are watching closely. Plenty of folks in Lubbock rely on Amazon deliveries hauled through regional cargo networks, and crashes involving cargo aircraft raise real questions about the supply chains behind those brown boxes on the doorstep.
