The mobile coffee stand moves around the Hub City, and fall flavors are showing up across town at other local shops too. Kick'n Koffee, at 3212 Woodrow Road with a second spot at 8720 Country Road 7100 in Wolfforth, has joined in. So has Yellow City Grind, serving up its own seasonal lineup at 6524 Slide Road.

None of these are chains you'd find in a strip mall food court. They're small, local operations spread from the west side out toward Wolfforth, which means the fall coffee run doubles as a tour of Lubbock's independent coffee scene. For neighbors who default to the drive-thru at the first hint of cooler mornings, there's now a real reason to detour.

More foot traffic means more cash staying local instead of going to a national coffee chain. Small stands like Blue Bird depend on exactly this kind of seasonal draw to pull in customers who might otherwise skip past them. Woodrow Road, Slide Road, and the Loop 289 corridor all get a piece of the fall coffee crowd this year.

Three different shops, three different corners of Lubbock, all betting that pumpkin and spice sell better than plain black coffee this time of year.
