A federal judge quickly halted that move back in March. This means the prior recommendations for childhood immunizations remain fully in place. For parents in neighborhoods like Tech Terrace or even out towards the South Plains Mall, this situation has meant a lot of confusion about what's actually required for their children's enrollment at local schools.

Simply put, students enrolling in Lubbock ISD, Frenship, or any other district here need the same shot records as last year. There are no new hoops to jump through for families getting ready for school. Whether their kids attend Monterey High or a smaller elementary school near 19th Street, their immunization records remain consistent, offering one less thing to worry about during back-to-school season.

So, while federal agencies debated policy shifts, students in Lubbock are entering class this fall without any new vaccine requirements.
