DoorDash already runs Costco delivery in a handful of overseas markets, including Australia, Sweden and Puerto Rico. This marks the first nationwide U.S. Rollout for the San Francisco-based delivery company, which said Costco ranked among the most-searched retailers still missing from its platform. Uber Eats is also getting in on the deal, giving shoppers two delivery options instead of one.

The catch, delivery only works for actual Costco members. Anyone wanting bulk toilet paper or a rotisserie chicken dropped at their door will need to link their membership to a DoorDash account first. No membership, no delivery.

For folks in Lubbock who already drive out for a Costco run and stock up once a month, this changes the math. If you forget something on the list, you no longer have to wait for the next trip. The bulk-buying model that made Costco a road-trip destination for some households could shift toward smaller, more frequent online orders.

Costco has 81 million members worldwide, most of them in the U.S. Whether people actually want their 48-pack of paper towels delivered by a stranger in a Honda Civic instead of hauling it themselves is a different question entirely.
