Extron enhances Lubbock County medical examiner’s office - Inavate

The 30,000-square-foot facility got the upgrade through a system designed by DataCom Design Group and installed by Moyers Group. At the center of it all are two independent AV setups, each built around an Extron DTP CrossPoint matrix switcher, which routes video and audio between the autopsy suites, observation areas, and training spaces.

The two systems can run separately or link together for live demonstrations and collaborative sessions. That means a trainee in one room can watch a forensic procedure happening in another, and staff can communicate across rooms without leaving their posts. Sessions can also be recorded, which matters for documentation and training purposes in a forensic setting where accuracy is not optional.

For Lubbock County, this is a practical upgrade to infrastructure that most people never think about until they need it. The medical examiner's office handles deaths that require official investigation, and the ability to train staff while maintaining clinical workflow has real consequences for how quickly and accurately that work gets done. Its 30,000-square-foot footprint puts it among the larger county forensic facilities in West Texas.
