Flix Lubbock Is Getting a Major Upgrade With New Luxury Recliners, Projection & More

The renovation means a temporary hit to the kitchen. Flix announced on Facebook that food service for items like burgers and wings will pause while the work gets done, putting the kitchen on what the theater is calling "intermission." Anyone who's settled into a booth there for a full meal and a movie will need to adjust expectations for a few weeks.

The concession stand isn't going dark, though. Popcorn, candy, soda, and alcoholic beverages will still be available throughout the upgrade, so a normal night out watching a film doesn't disappear entirely. Just don't expect a hot meal with it.

For regulars, this is a short-term trade-off for a longer-term payoff. New recliners and better projection could make Flix a stronger draw against other theaters in town, especially for people who pick their showtime based on comfort as much as what's playing. It lands right as fall movie season ramps up, so plan on grabbing dinner elsewhere before heading in.

That's a trade worth noting, comfort in, kitchen out, at least for now.
