Photographers Stephen Garcia and Nathan Giese captured the excitement of Week 1 high school football matchups, including Frenship versus Lubbock-Cooper and Sweetwater against Idalou, with images released Friday, August 28, 2026.
One series of pictures, taken by Stephen Garcia, documented the non-district game between Frenship and Lubbock-Cooper at Pirate Stadium in Woodrow. These images showed Lubbock-Cooper players taking the field and Frenship's James Ordonez throwing the ball during the contest. Frenship staff also held up signs in support of their team.
