Kaitlyn Terry Named Venmo College Athlete for "Money Moves" Campaign

Terry will take part in Venmo's new "Money Moves" campaign, which pushes athletes to use their NIL money to recognize the teammates, family, coaches and mentors who backed them along the way. She follows former Red Raider ace NiJaree Canady, who previously repped the same program. Two Texas Tech softball players landing this kind of national NIL spotlight in back to back years says something about what Lubbock has built on that diamond.

Terry earned it. In her first season with the Red Raiders, she went 24-3 in the circle with a 1.97 ERA and 172 strikeouts, then hit .429 with 10 home runs at the plate. Both Softball America and the NFCA named her first-team All-American. She's one of seven women among the nine athletes picked for Venmo's roster this cycle.

For Tech softball fans, this is another sign the program has real staying power on the national stage, not just a one-year run. Terry's face and name will show up in a national ad campaign, which means more eyes on Lubbock softball beyond the Big 12. Programs get recruits partly by proving their stars get seen, and Venmo just proved that for Texas Tech.
