Kenzie Brown joins softball staff

Brown spent her last three seasons at Arizona State, where she earned All-American honors as both a junior and senior. She also pitched in the AUSL with the Portland Cascade. Now she trades the Sun Devils' colors for Scarlet and Black, joining head coach Gerry Glasco's staff at Rocky Johnson Field.

Glasco didn't hold back on the hire. He called Brown a mix of youth and competitiveness, paired with maturity and intelligence, the kind of combination he wants shaping his roster.

For Tech softball fans, this is a program betting on itself. Adding an All-Big 12 and All-American arm to the coaching staff signals Glasco wants more than just wins next season. He wants a pipeline of pitchers who can compete at the level Brown reached in Tempe. Players already on the roster get direct access to someone who lived the grind of college softball's highest tier and made it to the pros.

Lubbock has watched Tech softball build steadily under Glasco, and this hire adds another piece with real credentials behind it. Brown made the jump from Tempe to West Texas within a matter of months.
