Lake Alan Henry sits about 60 miles southeast of Lubbock, a spot plenty of local families and outdoor folks know well for camping, fishing and hiking around its rougher terrain. Cave and rock formations near the lake draw people looking to get away from the flat South Plains. This incident shows how quickly that terrain can turn dangerous.
