Lubbock Symphony Orchestra announces 2026-27 season lineup - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will close its 2026-27 season with a live orchestra screening of "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back." This highly requested program caps off a nine-concert lineup marking the orchestra's 80th year performing for West Texas.
Between those two marquee nights, the LSO delivers its core Masterworks series, the intimate Chamber Orchestra series, and the annual "Home for the Holidays" concert. They also planned a side-by-side performance, providing a unique chance for local student musicians to play alongside the pros. You can catch most of these performances at the Buddy Holly Hall, keeping the energy strong downtown.
For regular Lubbockites, this means a year packed with diverse musical experiences, from classic compositions to cinematic blockbusters. It offers something for every taste, whether you are a long-time symphony-goer or just looking for a unique night out near the Depot District. This full schedule keeps our city's cultural calendar humming and provides world-class entertainment without ever leaving home.
Eighty years in, the LSO continues to blend timeless tradition with modern pop culture, proving classical music can still surprise even the most seasoned concert-goer.
