New Facilities and Expansions Projected to Create 174 Jobs and over $67 million in Capital Investment - KCBD

The companies span a wide range of industries and sizes, from nationwide operations to family-owned outfits. Terracon Engineering Consultants, Paramount Hardware and Supply, Redemption Aero, Ambrose, and Seals Commercial Holdings are all behind the growth numbers. Each company is in some stage of a business expansion project in the area.

The investment adds to the local tax rolls, which matters for a city that has been working to diversify its economic base beyond agriculture and Texas Tech. More jobs also means more competition for workers, which can push wages up for people already employed here. For recent grads from Tech or South Plains College looking to stay in Lubbock rather than head to Dallas or Austin, hiring across multiple industries gives them more reasons to plant roots.

Because the 174 projected positions are spread across several distinct companies and sectors, the hiring is unlikely to be concentrated in one part of town or one type of work.

Lubbock has now attracted capital investment commitments from businesses ranging from engineering firms to aerospace, which is a wider industrial spread than the city has historically seen.
