No. 13 Texas Tech hosts No. 22 Houston Friday Night

No.

No. 13 Texas Tech opens Big 12 play Friday against No. 22 Houston at Galaxy Stadium, kicking off at 7 p.m. Central on FOX.

Both teams enter ranked in the top 25, which puts this one on the short list of biggest home games Lubbock has hosted in years. Galaxy Stadium holds 60,229 people, and a top-25 conference opener under the lights tends to fill most of them. Tim Brando calls play-by-play with Devin Gardner analyzing, and Josh Sims reports from the sideline for FOX.

For folks who can't get a ticket, the Texas Tech Sports Network carries the broadcast across more than 20 affiliates in Texas and New Mexico, so it plays well beyond the city limits. Fans can also stream it through the FOX Sports app if they're headed out that night instead of parking near the stadium. Traffic will move earlier than usual too. A ranked Big 12 opener on a Friday changes the usual weekend rhythm around campus, with foot traffic near Texas Tech shifting a day ahead of schedule. Local bars and restaurants near the stadium should expect the kind of crowd usually reserved for weekend afternoons, just moved up a day.

Two ranked teams, one Friday night, and a sold-out crowd about to find out how loud West Texas gets before the weekend even starts.
