Roberts recognized on Wuerffel Trophy watch list

This national award honors college football players who use their public visibility to make a positive impact off the field. Roberts joins a select group of 113 FBS athletes nationwide recognized for serving their communities. The trophy itself bears the name of Danny Wuerffel, a Heisman winner celebrated for his lifelong dedication to leadership and unity, a legacy Roberts now mirrors. His nomination spotlights significant contributions beyond the familiar turf of Jones AT&T Stadium, extending into the heart of Lubbock.

For our city, Roberts' recognition means more than just national sports attention. It showcases a Red Raider actively shaping our home. Kids from Tech Terrace to Raintree can now look up to a local sports figure who genuinely dedicates his time to helping others. It provides a powerful example for aspiring young athletes throughout the 806, proving genuine success extends far beyond any scoreboard.
