Texas Tech announces fan information for 2026 season

The 2026 Red Raiders open their home schedule at 6 p.m. Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd at Galaxy Stadium, the program's new home and the most visible change to the gameday experience this year. Tech Athletics says sellout crowds are expected each time the team plays there this season.

The road closure is the most concrete operational change outlined so far. Wes Kittley Drive of Champions runs right through the heart of the pregame foot traffic that builds for hours before kickoff, so shutting it down entirely gives fans more room to move and cuts the risk of pedestrian and vehicle conflicts in one of the busiest stretches near the stadium.

For folks who drive to games, the closure means rethinking arrival routes around that corridor. Anyone rolling in late hoping to cut through that stretch will need another plan, since the three-hour window kicks in well before game time.

With every home date already sold out, each of those gamedays will test how smoothly the new traffic and pedestrian setup actually works.
