The two-day ceremonies kick off Friday, August 7th, taking over the United Supermarkets Arena right there on 19th Street. This record summer class comprises 1,255 undergraduates and 846 graduate and law students from 45 different U.S. States and 40 countries. It closely follows Tech's largest-ever spring commencement in May, which saw 5,584 students graduate.

This significant influx of graduates means more families visiting Lubbock, filling up hotels near the Loop and dining spots across town, providing a real boost to local businesses. It also signals a steady stream of new talent potentially staying in the Hub City or returning with their hard-earned degrees. This continued growth from the university directly influences our local job market and neighborhood development.

Whether you're celebrating a 70-year-old earning their diploma or a student from halfway around the world, this graduating class truly spans generations and continents.
