Texas Tech Takes on Boise State & Nation’s Longest Unbeaten Streak

The Red Raiders come back to Lubbock at 1-0-1 after a trip to Hawaii that produced two shutouts, a 1-0 win over Hawaii and a scoreless draw with Seattle played through a tropical storm. Head coach Tom Stone spent the week working the team on final-third finishing, hoping to turn those defensive performances into more goals Sunday night.

Stone did not mince words about the Broncos. "These guys don't mess around," he said. "They are a team that's beaten plenty of Power Four teams. They're very proud of the way they play. They're very well organized." He called the matchup a "barn burner" before it even kicks off.

For fans making their way out to the complex, this is the first result that goes in the books. Tech did host New Mexico on Aug. 6, but that was an exhibition and counted for nothing in the standings. Sunday at 7 p.m. Is when the home record actually starts.

Boise State's unbeaten run being the longest in the country makes this the toughest possible welcome-home opponent the Red Raiders could have drawn.
