Tom Sell Brings Washington Agriculture Experience Back To Lubbock Luncheon

The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. To 1 p.m. And is presented by FiberMax-BASF. Sell brings agriculture experience from Washington back to a room full of people who live it every day here, running small businesses and working the cotton fields and cattle operations that ring Lubbock on every side.

Anyone who has driven out past the city limits knows what this luncheon is really about. Cotton, cattle, tractors and farm trucks are not scenery around here. They are the economy, and the Chamber picked a speaker who spent his career advocating for that industry on a bigger stage before coming home to talk about it.

Farmers, ranchers and the businesses that depend on them make up a big chunk of the local economy. Sell's background as a small business owner and longtime ag advocate gives this year's event a different angle than the usual local speaker lineup, and neighbors in Lubbock will get to hear how his Washington experience translates into what it means for the South Plains.
