TTU Board of Regents approve new Grover E. Murray professor

The Texas Tech Board of Regents just named Dr.

Dr. Young currently practices at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, a critical healthcare provider for the entire region. The Board of Regents officially approved his distinguished appointment earlier this week, recognizing his long-standing contributions. This prestigious title specifically honors faculty members who consistently demonstrate exceptional teaching, groundbreaking research, and dedicated service to the institution.

Only a select group of Tech faculty members ever achieve this significant designation throughout their careers. These professors receive substantial ongoing financial support for their scholarly activities and innovative research projects. This appointment clearly highlights the quality of medical education and expertise available here within our Lubbock community.

This honor means our local medical school will continue attracting and retaining top-tier talent, directly benefiting patient care. Lubbock residents gain access to advanced medical research and highly skilled practitioners right here at home, without having to leave the South Plains. It further solidifies TTUHSCs growing reputation as a leader in regional healthcare, enhancing the citys appeal for medical professionals.

This appointment continues a legacy of academic excellence that reaches far beyond the boundaries of the Texas Tech campus and into our daily lives.
